This original Pony Express Station is located in Ehmen Park in Gothenburn, Nebraska . It’s a pretty cool stop if you are traveling on I 80.
The history of Gothenburg dates back to the great westward expansion, when thousands of pioneers crossed through here on the Mormon and Oregon Trails. In 1860 and 1861 the town boasted a station for the Pony Express.

After some 4,000 miles of this journey so far I stopped in for an oil change. Don’t tell anybody (shhhh), but (well, i’m not sure if I should mention this) I, I, I, I went to A SATURN DEALER for an oil change. I can’t believe I just said that. But in all honestly they provided one of the best services. They really treated me like royalty. They even gave me a quick wash which was soooooo refreshing. Volvo dealers better wake up and pay attention before I think of switching loyalties. Hmmmm…

I feel like an emerging flower in the spring time. But it’s still very much winter.

It gets awful lonely here in the States waiting to be driven. But it’s okay. I will wait patiently on my owners to return from Europe. It shouldn’t be much longer. . . .

Getting even more frustrated with all of the conartists out there. Especially those on craiglist. Although craiglists is a great site you just have to be aware and not stupid of believing everything you read or are told.
COMMON SENSE:
- If the title is not in your name – you can’t sell it
- If you don’t have your car paid off – you can’t sell it
- If the car doesn’t start – you can’t drive it home
BE AWARE OF:
- If the seller says that he just got the car and is not sure of the problems
- If the seller does not want to let you take the are to an “independent” mechanic or will always meet you have hours when ALL auto service places are closed
- If there is smoke coming out of oil or of car anywhere, especially white smoke = ENGINE PROBLEM
- If the seller has the car running before you get there – NOTE: This is a big sign that the car has trouble starting
- If the seller needs a quick sale because of divorce, moving or military deployment
- If a parent is selling there car for their child. This is not always a problem but sometimes is a way for the parent to say they don’t know info about the car
- If engine lights are on
- FINALLY: IF THE PRICE IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE – WALK AWAY

I don’t think my owners really understand what it means for an older model Volvo to take a trip with them to the junk yard. It’s like asking them to take a stroll in the cemetery. And one can’t help but think what they are trying to tell me. But, being the good loyal Volvo that I am, I went. And it was actually not all that bad because there was only one Volvo there. It was so ancient I couldn’t even make out what model it was. So this speaks very highly of my family line. VIVA VOLVO.

Today is a special day!!! IT SNOWED!!!!. It is my owners and I first snow together since the releasing of this sight. I know, I know, it’s nothing compared to what their 940 Volvo experienced during the 2009 blizzard of South Dakota, but it’s still significant to me. I will do my best to keep them nice and warm and make sure my heated seats are toasty for them when they return from the cold. This is one of my best features which is still working after almost 15 years. Knock on VOLVO.
