It gets awful lonely here in the States waiting to be driven. But it’s okay. I will wait patiently on my owners to return from Europe. It shouldn’t be much longer. . . .
Getting even more frustrated with all of the conartists out there. Especially those on craiglist. Although craiglists is a great site you just have to be aware and not stupid of believing everything you read or are told.
COMMON SENSE:
– If the title is not in your name – you can’t sell it
– If you don’t have your car paid off – you can’t sell it
– If the car doesn’t start – you can’t drive it home
BE AWARE OF:
– If the seller says that he just got the car and is not sure of the problems
– If the seller does not want to let you take the are to an “independent” mechanic or will always meet you have hours when ALL auto service places are closed
– If there is smoke coming out of oil or of car anywhere, especially white smoke = ENGINE PROBLEM
– If the seller has the car running before you get there – NOTE: This is a big sign that the car has trouble starting
– If the seller needs a quick sale because of divorce, moving or military deployment
– If a parent is selling there car for their child. This is not always a problem but sometimes is a way for the parent to say they don’t know info about the car
– If engine lights are on
– FINALLY: IF THE PRICE IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE – WALK AWAY
While traveling through the Knoxville area, I ran into my old friend Jannie Whitney. Yup, this is her name. Not Whitney Jane, but Jannie Whittney. I have other friends named Whitney Jane, but her name is Jannie Whitney. As I was driving back home, I was thinking if she were to get married to my friend with the last name Wagner then her legal name would be Jannie Whitney Wagner. Wow! Try saying that fast three times.
Do you ever just look in the mirror some days and what you see looking back is an older model of you. Well yesterday I had one of those days. While driving through the newly opened part of I-75 of Knoxville which has been closed for quite some months, I just felt like there was a 740 model starring back at me.
Even when traveling I always like to stay in touch. It is quite difficult to be a car and mobile with no permanent address, but there are always those trusty, hand-dandy blue boxes here and there on the side of the roads.
